Upon our arrival at Dubrovnik Airport the car rental area\u2014like rental lots everywhere\u2014was dark as night. This wasn’t all that surprising since it was, in fact, nighttime, but rental garages are often super dark\u2014even by day. Good thing I had a headlamp in my carry-on, because the “flashlight” on my cell phone wouldn’t have been bright enough. You see, lurking in the shadows was serious body damage that even our rental agent missed! Without the light we would have been on the hook for expensive repairs\u2014or had the hassle of an insurance claim.<\/p>\n

A headlamp is also useful for nighttime tire changes, breakdowns and bathroom breaks, exploring any cave, crevice or ruin you may encounter, and of course for power outages. Engineers have toiled long and hard so each of us can have our own portable sun\u2014having one could save you serious trouble “down the road”.<\/p>\n<\/div>
